Ottawa runs a lot of hockey camps, and almost none of them live in the same place. Every rink has its own registration page, every organization has its own newsletter, and the good ones fill before most parents hear about them. This page is the flat version: 22 public camps currently listed across the city, with what each one costs and who it's for.

What's running right now

Those numbers move every week. Camps get added through the summer and into the winter break, and single-week programs vanish from the list the moment they start — so if a week looks thin, it usually means it already sold or already ran.

Where the camps actually are

The west end carries most of the load. Kanata's two Sensplex buildings alone account for the majority of camp weeks in the city, which is why a Barrhaven family often ends up driving the Queensway in July.

If you're outside the west end, the practical move is to filter by rink rather than by program name. A camp that's twenty minutes away four mornings in a row beats a marginally better camp that's forty-five minutes away in construction season.

What a camp costs

Camp pricing in Ottawa spans an order of magnitude, and the number on the page usually isn't comparable between programs: some are half-day for three days, some are full-day for five with dryland and lunch. The spread below is raw sticker price, before tax.

The cheap end is mostly single-day skills sessions and municipally-subsidised programs. The $200 end is a full week of on-ice plus off-ice with a small skater-to-coach ratio. Picking by birth year, not by grade

Ottawa camps are advertised by birth year (2016, 2015…) or by division (U11, U13), and the two don't always line up with what a parent has in their head. A 2015 player is U12 this season. Every listing below shows the birth years the organizer actually accepts, so you can check eligibility without emailing anyone.

How to choose (and when to book)

• Book March for July. The popular Ottawa summer weeks are gone by spring. If you're reading this in-season, set a filter instead of a reminder.
• Ice hours beat brand names. Two 60-minute ice slots a day at a mid-price camp will do more for a player than one slot at a famous one.
• Check the goalie policy. Many Ottawa camps price goalies differently or run a separate goalie stream; a few take them free.
• Ask about the refund window. Summer injuries happen. Organizers on PuckFinder publish their cancellation policy on the session page.
